The Wisconsin Hospital Association advocacy team works very closely with hospitals to help educate lawmakers about the impacts of Medicaid reimbursement.  It is important lawmakers see and learn first-hand the complex work of delivering high quality, high value care to patients and understand how below-cost reimbursement requires hospitals to cost-shift onto other payers.  Hospitals across the state have hosted legislators at roundtable discussions, hospital tours and meetings to help educate lawmakers on this issue.

Hospital leaders, employees, trustees and volunteers can help educate lawmakers as well by joining WHA's HEAT legislative grassroots program.  Stay up to date and involved on this important issue by joining HEAT today.  Log on to http://www.wha.org/heat-grassroots-advocacy.aspx.  For more information, contact WHA's Jenny Boese at jboese@wha.org.
