OR Leadership and Hospital Performance

Webinar
July 22, 2008
Time: 10 - 11:30 a.m. CENTRAL TIME

Register for this event online:
July 22, 2008 ($295 per line)

Program Description
Hospitals depend on surgical services to drive profitability. The problem is that most ORs are poorly managed - governed by ineffective committees and run by dictatorial managers who alienate surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses. Based on observation of dozens of surgical services organizations, this program will outline a new OR leadership model that emphasizes physician participation, strong hands-on management and balancing the needs of stakeholders. Several case studies show how this model can help an OR improve processes, quality and surgeon satisfaction, ultimately growing surgical market share and hospital margin.

Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
  1. Describe a new leadership model for OR management
  2. Discuss how to effectively involve physicians in leadership and management
  3. Discuss how an efficiently run OR positively impacts the hospital's bottom line.
