Engaging Patients Online: The Payoff of Just Trying it
Webinar
April 22, 2008 Time: 1:30 - 3 p.m. CENTRAL TIME
Register for this event online: April 22, 2008 ($295 per line)
Program Description
Savvy health care consumers are already doing their taxes, buying cars, getting mortgages, even finding spouses, all online. If you aren't allowing patients to do business with their health care provider online, you risk losing them to providers who do. Aurora Health Care's consumer Web site has been named among the best in the industry for three consecutive years (Greaystone.net's "best in class" for best overall Web site in 2005; eHealthcare Leadership Awards for best overall Web site, best interactive Web site and best eBusiness Web site in 2006 and 2007), and generates nearly three times as much income in a month than is in the Web site budget for the entire year. Aurora achieved these results with a "just try it" approach to Web development. That entails adding simple tools and capabilities to see what patients and consumers really want, and then applying development resources to enhancing those that generate the best results. The outcome is tools that engage patients, and the application of scarce resources in support of what patients want and will use. See concrete examples of how that approach works with specific Web site tools, including online bill payment, secure physician-patient communication, class registration and payment, and personal patient Web pages, including detailed results from each tool.
