Wisconsin Hospitals: Connecting With Our Communities

Community Benefits Reporting Training
March 6, 2009
Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness Resort, Wisconsin Dells

For three consecutive years, 100 percent of Wisconsin's hospitals have collected and publicly reported community benefits information. In 2009, WHA will continue to use the Lyon Software's online community benefits collection and survey software, CBISA, for public reporting.

This education session is designed to train those who complete the WHA community benefit survey by providing examples of "what counts" and where/how to include the activity in the online Lyon's CBISA software. Many hospitals continue to have questions about what can be counted, how to assign dollar values to non-material contributions, and how to integrate the WHA survey into the processes they may already have set up to collect this data. Staff from WHA and Lyon Software will be available to answer questions and concerns that member hospitals may have about processes related to gathering and reporting this data. In addition, the new IRS Form 990 Schedule H regulations for hospitals will take effect in 2010. Schedule H will be reviewed at this session, as all hospitals need to be ready for individual hospital reporting of community benefits. Each registered attendee will also receive three important publications as a part of the attendee registration fee.
