As a hospital leader, you play a powerful role in impacting the lives and health of your patients and communities. Are you then taking the next step, to use that influence to impact the development of public policy and the legislators who make those decisions? Your first step will be to attend one of the four grassroots leadership training workshops to help you move from knowledge into grassroots action.

Learn the Issues...from health care reform to quality and pricing transparency initiatives to Medicaid funding and beyond, public policy makers are actively weighing in on issues that directly impact your hospitals and communities. Learn details of the most pressing public policy issues of the day, so you can then speak with authority on them. Learn the Process...public policy makers are working within an established system of government that has processes, rules and procedures. Learn insights about your legislators and the system they work in, so your voice can have the most impact. Learn to Influence...As a hospital leader and a voter in your district, you already are a person of influence in your community. If you never thought of yourself in this way, the time is now to begin seeing how your grassroots involvement can positively impact your hospital and communities. If you are already a grassroots all-star, learn a few more tips to help you increase your influence and effectiveness with public policy makers.
