2 Percent Medicare Spending Sequester Would Hit Wisconsin Health Care Economy Hard

MADISON (September 14, 2012) – Wisconsin hospitals could take an economic hit of more than $100 million per year as a result of the 2 percent sequester of Medicare spending mandated by the Budget Control Act of 2011. That is in addition to the mandatory reductions under the health care reform law that WHA estimates will reduce payments to Wisconsin hospitals by some $2.6 billion over the next ten years. Wisconsin Hospital Association Praises Medical College of Wisconsin on Announcement to Expand Medical School Campuses

MADISON (June 25, 2012) – A 2011 report by the Wisconsin Hospital Association reveals that Wisconsin faces a major physician shortage by the year 2030 if action is not taken soon. After the report was released, the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) almost immediately began gathering information and meeting with health care and community leaders across Wisconsin. Federal Agency Ranks Wisconsin High in Health Care Quality

MADISON (June 22, 2012) – The Federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) released data that confirms Wisconsin's reputation as a leader in health care quality.
