This position meets patients, personnel and organizational needs by leading, planning, organizing and controlling activities regarding Infection Prevention (IP) and manages all aspects of the program. In addition, it provides leadership, vision, development and implementation of infection prevention goals for the organization and maintains continuous compliance of the infection prevention program throughout the organization in accordance with Joint Commission regulations. Essential duties: • Develops and monitors the IP budget under the direction of the Quality Director • Identifies, facilitates and evaluates infection prevention practices and goals according to established procedures and protocols. • Initiates, develops, revises, reviews and updates all policies and procedures for Infection Prevention. • Participates in continuing education and professional associations to promote own professional growth, to remain current regarding IP issues, and to develop/maintain skills that contribute to the achievement of the IP programs and the goals and mission of the organization. The Infection Prevention / Quality Nurse position requires a BSN with 2 years of hospital experience preferred. This position is full-time, day shift, working 80 hours per pay period.
