Aurora Medical Center is a 69-bed facility located along the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. The Manager of Plant Operations will be responsible for managing the activities related to the operation, maintenance and repair of all buildings and building systems within the Aurora facilities located in Manitowoc County (hospital and multiple clinics). Coordinating activities associated with remodeling and renovation projects. Managing a staff of nine Maintenance Technicians, HVAC Technicians and telecommunications which includes overseeing activities of the plant operations department to ensure the safety, staff operation and maintenance of buildings, as well as the grounds and equipment of the facilities. Managing the operation and maintenance of the following utility systems which support diagnostic, critical care, and life support functions of patient care: high and low voltage electricity, normal and emergency power systems, plumbing, heating/cooling, elevators; fire protection systems and equipment; medical gases; and communication equipment which includes P.A. System, Nurse Call, TV’s and Tube System) Managing and communicating scheduled utility interruptions as required by construction and renovation projects. Ensuring that utility system back-up plans are developed and in place in case of utility system failures. Coordinating the implementation of emergency procedures in the event of a utility failure. Serving as regional or site representative for various function of the Environment of Care Chapter of the JCAHO. (Environment Care Committee, Environmental Care Inspection Team, Emergency Preparedness Committee, Safety Committee, Metro Standards Committee and Service Review) Partnering with Corporate Departments on all major construction activities to insure utility systems and equipment are adequate to support the health care services that are being provided. Coordinates activities for equipment installation projects. Developing the annual departmental budget and manages financial, material and human resources to assure cost effectiveness and maximize productivity while maintaining high quality services. Evaluates energy costs and recommends methods of reducing costs. Promoting inter departmental and inter professional cooperation by serving as a liaison with other departments, administration and external agencies. Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Aurora Health Care Code of Excellence and for ensuring personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws that affect Aurora’s business. Requirements: Knowledge of Plant Operations or a related field, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited associate’s degree program. Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in plant/facilities operation, mechanical and electrical engineering, and/or HVAC. Plus three years of previous leadership and management experience. Experience working in health care environment strongly preferred. Knowledge of NFA, LSC, OSHA AND JCAHO codes. The RWHC ITN Computer Technician will provide computer support services to ITN member hospitals in Wisconsin, with significant time spent in the Grant/Lafayette/Iowa County area. Responsibilities will include: (1) PC and printer assembly, installation, and maintenance (2) software installation, configuration, and maintenance, and (3) customer-service focused end-user support. Candidates should have at least 3 years experience in computer system repair and support and/or a technical degree/certification. Candidates must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
