The Board is created under the Structure of the Executive Branch. All positions are appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. The board consists of five currently-licensed registered nurses, two currently-licensed practical nurses and two public members.

Current members of the Board are:
Marilyn Kaufmann, RN, Chair
Evelyn N. Merriett, RN
Julia Nelson, RN
Kathleen L. Sullivan, RN
Lou Ann Weix RN
Margaret Heine, LPN
June Bahr, LPN
Gretchen Lowe, Public Member
Margaret Wood, Public Member

The Board meets eight times per year.

Current issues that the Board is addressing include school of nursing pass rates for the NCLEX exam and the supply of faculty for nursing schools. If you have comments or concerns, contact Judy Warmuth (jwarmuth@wha.org) at WHA.
