This monthly webinar series offers bite-sized doses of education that are engaging, evidence-based, and immediately applicable for all members of the health care team. Each webinar is scalable, by design, for an audience of any size, and will be recorded for participants to access at a later date. Caregivers, including physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses and other health care professionals from clinics, hospital and health systems throughout Wisconsin will benefit from participation. This series is jointly sponsored by the Wisconsin Medical Society and WHA, and the series is offered complimentary to members of either organization.

QUALITY: This four-part webinar series provides practical advice and next steps on how to engage patients and family members to improve quality at the hospital. Jenna Wright, a program manager for UW Health’s Patient and Family Advisory (PFA) Program, will share details on how they run their PFA Program and offer tools and supporting documents to help leaders further their own PFA programs.

WORKFORCE: During the last decade or two, employers have found it increasingly difficult to decide which employees are entitled to overtime. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) contains dozens of exemptions, including specific categories of employers and employees that are not subject to the Act’s overtime requirements. The most common are the “white collar” exemptions for executive, administrative, and professional employees, computer professionals, and outside sales employees. This webinar will differentiate between exempt and non-exempt employees; evaluate the difference between each of the more common exemption categories; and discuss how to properly determine whether a job meets one or more exemption categories.
