THE VALUED VOICE

In the closing weeks of 2016, hospital members met with Sen. Luther Olsen at Ripon Medical Center and newly elected Senator-elect Patrick Testin at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point to gain support for Medicaid and other budget initiatives WHA will be pursuing in the next legislative session. These initiatives include investments to strengthen the health care workforce through the Rural Wisconsin Initiative, a proposal put forward by several members of the state Assembly to bolster rural communities in Wisconsin.

HEAT Roundtables have now been held in 10 Senate districts throughout the state.
