THE VALUED VOICE

The Partners of WHA held their annual convention in Appleton October 2-4. Once again on the agenda was the CEO Panel moderated by Eric Borgerding, president and CEO of WHA. This year, the panel included Jennifer Derks, CEO of Ascension Calumet Hospital; Sharla Baenen, president of Bellin Psychiatric Center; and Tonya Darner, COO of Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The panelists answered pre-submitted questions which included topics related to “Medicare for All,” provider shortages in the state of Wisconsin, and legislation that supports health care workers who are victims of violent crimes.

Typically, the CEO Panel is one of the most popular components of the annual convention. One member of the audience commented, “The CEO Panel is one of the top reasons why I come to convention every year!”
