CELEBRATING 100 YEARS: Warren Von Ehren Retires; Robert Taylor Promoted to President

As the 1980s moved toward its midpoint, Warren Von Ehren signaled his intent to retire, opening the door to a transition for WHA.

At the June 19, 1986 meeting of the WHA Board, Chairman Joe Neidenbach made official the recommendation of the Search Committee and the decision of the Board that on August 1, Von Ehren would complete his active role with the Association and Bob Taylor would become president.

Taylor joined the WHA staff in 1973 as assistant to the president. He was named vice president-finance in 1975, senior vice president in 1977 and executive vice president in 1980 before assuming the presidency.
