Zenk and Hoelter Receive Promotions

Beginning October 1, 2020, Zenk will be Senior Vice President, Workforce and Clinical Practice. Zenk joined the WHA team just over three years ago bringing with her more than 30 years of experience. Prior to joining WHA, Zenk held a variety of positions, starting as a staff nurse and progressing to roles in nursing leadership, quality improvement, risk management, and utilization review.

“Ann has become a go-to expert on many issues for the WHA team, our members, and the media. Most recently, Ann embraced a new level of leadership during the COVID-19 fight, becoming the lead staff on many of the members’ mission critical issues and being an outstanding colleague to her teammates during this demanding time,” WHA President and CEO Eric Borgerding said.

Hoelter will become Vice President, Federal and State Relations also on October 1, 2020. Hoelter started at WHA in February 2018 after serving as the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ legislative advisor and, prior to that, as a senior policy advisor to Governor Scott Walker. Hoelter worked a number of years in Washington D.C., becoming a senior legislative assistant to Congressman Sean Duffy, specializing in health care issues and staffing Congressman Duffy on the House Committee on the Budget.

In addition to recognizing Hoelter’s key public policy role at the state level, Borgerding noted, “Federal advocacy has always been important to WHA and its members, but especially now during COVID-19 given the significant and ongoing role of Congress and federal agencies. With Jon’s focus and committed work, WHA is plugged into federal policymaking like never before.”

“I could not be prouder of our entire WHA team or more pleased to recognize Ann and Jon with well-deserved promotions during these truly unique times,” Borgerding said.
