Aurora Medical Center - Grafton provides Licensed Athletic Trainers (LATs) to local high schools, sports clubs and community athletic events, offering expert care for athletes at all levels. LATs are health care professionals with specialized education and national certifications in sports medicine. Their collaborative care model and recognized expertise ensures that athletes stay safe and competitive by delivering sport-specific care and managing injuries effectively.
They are key members of the sports medicine team, offering immediate on-site care during events and serving as a critical link between athletes, their families and further medical resources when needed.
In cases of serious injury, Aurora LATs connect athletes to the full spectrum of sports medicine care, including consultations with orthopedic sports medicine specialists who are trained to assess and manage on-field injuries. They also play a key role in guiding rehabilitation programs, making Return to Play decisions and supporting injury prevention and performance improvement initiatives.
