Program Description

Addressing violence against health care workers remains a top priority for all hospitals. Still, finding the most effective solutions requires innovation and creative thinking. This virtual summit will explore the unique approaches hospitals are taking in response to this complex issue. Recognizing the need for thoughtful, engaging discussion on shared challenges and best practices, the virtual event will feature:

  • A keynote from Robyn Begley, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, chief executive officer of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) and chief nursing officer, senior vice president of workforce for the AHA.
  • Innovation Chats, which will explore a range of programs from around the state and the key to their success.
  • A workplace violence panel discussion with colleagues from Colorado hospitals providing insight into how their facilities are responding to the needs of their patients, staff, and community. Find out what other states are doing to address this issue!

Program Objectives

Through thoughtful and engaging discussion, on shared challenges and best practices, this virtual event will explore the unique approaches hospitals are taking in response to this complex issue, as well as provide subject matter expert perspectives. 

Who Should Attend

All hospital personnel, including but not limited to nurses, doctors, paramedics, administrative staff, security personnel, emergency management/preparedness staff, and support staff, who may encounter workplace violence situations in their daily work as well as professionals who wish to develop workplace violence reduction programs.
