Perioperative Pain Management: Challenges in the Era of the Opioid Crisis

WHA has partnered with Dr. Roy Soto to help Wisconsin hospitals achieve a 20% reduction in adverse drug events related to opioids. Dr. Soto earned his medical degree at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship at USAF Medical Center and his anesthesiology residency at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He has been in practice for more than 20 years and is board certified in anesthesiology. Dr. Soto will discuss opioid use during the perioperative period as well as how to improve safety and quality of care in the perioperative environment.
