This isn’t your Typical First Aid Training
Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant teamed up with a local high school student to bring “Stop the Bleed” training to her school.
The student attended a career day demonstration at Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant and was deeply inspired. Her mentor, Amy Moczyniski, an EMS community educator at Aurora Mount Pleasant, helped the student bring her vision to life.
“Stop the Bleed” teaches course participants how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and act quickly and effectively to control it with three quick techniques. Thanks to this training, the student and her classmates are empowered with the ability to make a difference when a bleeding emergency happens and hopefully provide more time for responders to arrive and treat the injured person.
Amy mentored the student on this project and assisted her in connecting with the many community partners needed to bring “Stop the Bleed” kits and training to the local school.
