Advancing Medicare Quality Through Collaboration and Innovation

The Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) is a proud member of the Superior Health Quality Alliance (Superior Health), an eight-partner organization focused on improving care for Medicare beneficiaries. Superior Health collaborates with patients, clinicians, healthcare organizations and communities across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) quality improvement objectives.

Superior Health has participated in CMS’s quality improvement efforts since its inception, with the 12th Statement of Work (SOW) completed in 2024. Through this work, Superior Health achieved significant milestones, including:

  • 58% relative improvement rate in beneficiaries with diabetes
  • 24% relative improvement rate in screening and diagnosing chronic kidney disease
  • 86% reductions in infection control citations among long-term care facilities

13th SOW: A New Chapter
