WEDC Announces New Talent Recruitment Grant Opportunity for Wisconsin Communities

Wisconsin communities working to strengthen their workforce—including their health care workforce—have a new tool to help attract residents from outside the state. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) has launched its new Talent Recruitment Grant (TRG) Program, created under 2025 Wisconsin Act 15, to support local efforts to bring new households into Wisconsin.

The program provides $5 million in first-year funding, with awards of up to $500,000 per municipality, and is open to cities, villages, towns, counties, tribes and nonprofit organizations focused on economic or workforce development.

Why This Matters to Hospitals

Hospitals and health systems continue to face significant workforce shortages. The TRG program gives communities the ability to:

  • Develop coordinated talent-attraction initiatives
  • Offer relocation incentives to out-of-state workers
  • Market local assets—including health care career opportunities
  • Strengthen population growth that supports a stable, long-term workforce

Learn More

WEDC is hosting a Talent Recruitment Grant Informational Webinar on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 10–11 a.m. More information and full program details are available on WEDC’s website.
