WHA 2026 Nominating and Awards Committee Seeking Nominations for Awards, Board Members

WHA is now accepting nominations for its annual Distinguished Service Award and Trustee Award. These important awards recognize those who display leadership, dedication and professionalism to their community or the Association.

You now have an opportunity to nominate someone in your region, your hospital or on your Board of Directors who deserves such an honor.

  • The Distinguished Service Award is presented to a senior health care executive who has made an exemplary commitment to WHA, their hospital and the communities they serve.
  • The Trustee Award honors a trustee of a WHA member organization who has made an exemplary commitment to their community and to the organization on whose board they serve.

Administrators, trustees, senior managers, nurse leaders, volunteers and others are encouraged to nominate someone to receive one of these awards. Information and award criteria can be found here. For more information, contact WHA Executive Assistant Kim Drone.

The Nominating Committee will also recommend candidates for new WHA Board positions. WHA members who are interested in serving—or would like to nominate someone—for an At-Large WHA Board seat, Chair-Elect position or AHA Delegate role should contact either WHA President Kyle O’Brien or WHA Nominating Committee Chair Robert Van Meeteren with questions.

Please submit nominations for both the awards and WHA Board of Directors to Kim Drone no later than Friday, Sept. 4.
