On July 28, WalletHub released a report highlighting Wisconsin as one of the top states for health care. The ranking, Best & Worst States for Health Care (2025), compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia across three categories: Cost, Access and Outcomes. These categories were evaluated using 44 measures, including the cost of a medical visit, wait-times for services, providers-per-capita and the share of patients readmitted to hospitals
“This ranking is a reflection of what we already know, health care is a critical asset and competitive advantage for Wisconsin” said Kyle O’Brien, President and CEO of the Wisconsin Hospital Association. “These rankings do not happen by chance; they are the result of a commitment to providing high-quality care from hospitals in every corner of this state.”
