WHA joined Congressman Bryan Steil for a roundtable discussion with area hospital leaders hosted by Ascension Wisconsin Franklin and St. Francis Hospitals’ President Jonathon Matuszewski.
The group discussed the ongoing implications of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, stressing the importance of Wisconsin’s State Medicaid funding increases being approved by the federal government. WHA members also discussed the importance of a new continuing resolution being passed by Sept. 30 with health care extenders such as telehealth, hospital at home and the Medicare Dependent and Low Volume hospital adjustments set to expire. Lastly, hospital leaders expressed support for a solution to the impending enhanced premium tax credits expiring at the end of the year, which could pose barriers for Wisconsinites trying to access affordable health insurance and lead to more uncompensated care for hospitals.
