This week, the Department of Health Services (DHS) released the agenda and registration information for the first meeting of the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program Advisory Council.
The advisory council will meet virtually on Thursday, April 23 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The meeting agenda and information on how to join the meeting as a member of the public are posted on the State of Wisconsin Public Meeting Notices website here. To register for the meeting, click here.
Authorized under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the RHT Program is a competitive five-year, $50 billion federal funding opportunity available to all states to strengthen and support rural health care.
The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced in December that it had awarded Wisconsin $203.7 million for the first year of the program.
According to DHS, the RHT Program Advisory Council will provide strategic guidance to the agency as part of the state’s implementation of the program over the next five years.
