Health care professionals seeking to strengthen their leadership skills and advance their careers are encouraged to register for the 2027 Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) Health Care Leadership Academy, a program designed to prepare emerging and advancing leaders for executive roles within health care organizations.
The Academy's opening session, "The Business of Health Care: Leadership Strategy and Understanding the Business," will serve as the foundation for the year-long program. The session will be led by Wisconsin School of Business Center for Professional & Executive Development (CPED) instructors Adam J. Bock, MBA, PhD, and Ann Martel, providing participants with essential insights into the strategic and financial aspects of healthcare leadership.
During the session, participants will explore the economic challenges facing the health care industry and examine how organizations are responding to those pressures. Instruction will focus on the relationship between operational performance and organizational financial health, as well as the fundamentals of managing health care costs and revenue streams across various payment models, including fee-for-service, bundled payments and capitated reimbursement structures.
