The Power of Partnership: Strengthening Immunization Efforts in the Northwoods
The Northwoods Immunization Coalition (NIC) is rooted in collaboration, education, and a shared commitment to public health. NIC includes local health departments, school districts, and both public and private healthcare providers united around a common goal: reducing vaccine-preventable diseases through community-wide initiatives. Marshfield Medical Center–Minocqua has been a proud and active partner in this coalition, helping to drive forward its mission to improve immunization rates across all age groups. Through its involvement, the medical center has played a key role in educating the public, supporting healthcare professionals, and advocating for accessible, accurate vaccine information.
The coalition’s work is guided by three core goals: increasing immunization rates, educating consumers and providers, and offering up-to-date training on best practices. MMC–Minocqua contributes to each of these areas by training providers, participating in vaccine awareness campaigns, and working directly with families to ensure they feel informed and supported in their healthcare decisions.
Over the years, the impact of this partnership has been clear, yet there are still challenges up ahead. MMC-Minocqua knows persistent outreach and education will create future success in getting Oneida County residents vaccinated against preventable diseases.
