Wisconsin Quality Residency Program

WI Quality Residency Program

Registration is now open for the 2026-2027 cohort of the Wisconsin Quality Residency Program. For more information and to register, click the Program Details button below.

The Wisconsin Quality Residency Program, created through a partnership between Wisconsin Hospital Association and Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC), and sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health (WORH), was first launched in 2014 and provides a comprehensive curriculum of core quality improvement concepts. It is designed to engage new or novice hospital quality improvement leaders in a track of education, leadership training and networking – all critical for success in the first two years on the job. This program is open to all Wisconsin hospitals and health care systems.

This 10-month program is a combination of in-person and virtual meetings, and the learning modules cover foundational topics, including regulatory and accreditation requirements, quality improvement concepts, state and federal hospital compliance, risk management, data analysis and decision-making and more. The monthly learning modules are highly interactive facilitated by a team of expert and veteran quality professionals.

The Wisconsin Quality Residency Program is aligned with the nationally recognized competency domains established by the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) for the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) credential.
