Women's Health is Health Care
Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area hosted a wellness event where women could hear from local doctors about a variety of women’s health topics. Four Aurora teammates led educational sessions, three of whom are local to the Aurora – Bay Area. Featured topics included: • Menorrhagia and abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) • What to expect during a hospital labor and delivery • Breastfeeding and “the golden hour.” • The importance of cervical cancer screenings The goal of this event was to empower women with health and wellness information. In the closing remarks for the event, attendees were encouraged to take what they learned and start conversations with the other women in their own lives. Dr. Elizabeth Dickson is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist at the Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay who presented at the event. She summed up the conversation best when she said, “Talk to your friends, talk to the people around you, let them know that it is not just about babies and cervixes. It’s about everything with our health, moving forward throughout our lives.”
