Supporting Families so they Can Focus on Their Health
The Cancer Nurse Navigators at Aurora Medical Center – Oshkosh are ready to help with anything needed throughout one’s care and survivorship. They operate as a support person to help through each step of one’s cancer journey, regardless of that person’s insurance status or ability to pay for their care. Cancer nurse navigators are certified nursing professionals with extensive experience and, often, specialized expertise in oncology. They guide those who are managing cancer and families from diagnosis through cancer treatment and into post-treatment or, if needed, end-of-life care. At each stage of diagnosis and treatment, a nurse navigator is there to help ease their client’s fears and help them focus on what matters most: fighting cancer. They even link their clients to community resources when a need arises. In 2024, Aurora Medical Center – Oshkosh’s Cancer Nurse Navigators supported 1,008 people.
