Every family is unique, and so is their transition into parenthood. The Welcome Baby Program was established as part of the Community Partnership for Children. This program was designed to make this exciting but challenging transition easier for families in Sheboygan County. Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan County serves as one of the two sites hosting this program within the county. When a family brings a new baby into their family, a Resource Specialist visits the parents and their newborn at the hospital. During the visit, parents are connected to existing resources in Sheboygan County. The Resource Specialist can continue to be a contact person for parents if they have questions about community resources in the future. In 2024, 843 Welcome Baby screenings were completed at Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan County. In addition to their roles as a screening site, the hospital is also a program sponsor.
