At Reedsburg Area Medical Center (RAMC), we know that good health extends well beyond the walls of the hospital. Access to nutritious food, especially for seniors and homebound community members, is a critical part of maintaining overall well-being. That’s why our administrative team is proud to serve the community through the local Meals on Wheels program.
Each week, members of our administrative team take time to deliver meals to individuals who might otherwise struggle to access consistent, healthy food. This program not only ensures that participants receive proper nutrition, but also provides vital social interaction and a wellness check. For many recipients, a visit from a friendly volunteer is as meaningful as the meal itself. Supporting Meals on Wheels allows RAMC to extend its mission of care into the community in a very personal way. By delivering meals, our staff helps reduce barriers to healthy food and supports older adults in maintaining their independence at their homes. We are grateful to partner with Meals on Wheels in this important work. This collaboration exemplifies how hospitals can make a meaningful impact well beyond clinical services, strengthening the community as a whole.
Our team looks forward to continuing this commitment as part of RAMC’s broader dedication to improving the health of all those we serve.
Building the Future of Health Care in Our Community
At Reedsburg Area Medical Center (RAMC), we know that the future of health care starts right here in our community. That’s why we focus on helping local students and employees discover and grow meaningful careers in health care. We start by reaching students early. Through job shadows, career fairs, and youth apprenticeships, local middle school and high school students get the chance to step inside our hospital and see what it’s really like to work alongside nurses, therapists, and other care team members. Programs like Club Scrub invite middle-school students to explore health care careers in a fun, hands-on way, sparking curiosity and often planting the seeds for future careers in medicine.
For those ready to move forward, RAMC offers on-site training programs like our CNA in Training course and apprenticeships for medical assistants and surgical technologists. These fully funded opportunities make it easier for people to gain the skills they need to begin a health care career without leaving the community they call home. We also invest in our current staff. With tuition scholarships and reimbursement programs, we help employees take the next step in their careers by reducing financial barriers to further education and training.
By creating opportunities for students to explore, learn, and grow, and by supporting our team members as they advance, RAMC is building a stronger local health care workforce and helping ensure our community will have skilled, compassionate caregivers for years to come.
