Spooner Health Champions Youth Wellness in Fiscal Year 2024
Spooner Health donated an AED to the Spooner Area Youth Hockey Association for the popular Spooner Civic Center facility.
As part of Spooner Health’s ongoing commitment to community well-being, several youth-focused initiatives took center stage during Fiscal Year 2024. Mental health and substance use—identified as key priorities in the 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment—were addressed with a strong emphasis on early intervention and the creation of safe, enriching environments for young people.
When the team at Spooner Health heard that a new youth center was on the horizon, the team eagerly stepped in to support the project. The team contributed items from the center’s wish list, including games, furnishings, and art supplies, helping to create a vibrant, safe, and welcoming space where youth can gather. In addition to supporting the youth center, the team focused on several other youth initiatives during the year. When the Spooner Area Youth Hockey Association reached out with a need for an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for the Spooner Civic Center, Spooner Health committed to providing this life-saving piece of equipment to the popular facility. Another exciting partnership was with the Spooner Memorial Library where the Director of Emergency Services and Director of Public Relations & Marketing conducted a Teddy Bear Clinic & Trauma Prevention program. The kids learned all about safety and even had the opportunity to bring their favorite stuffed animal to get “bandaged up”. Families walked away with valuable safety tips to keep their loved ones safe and healthy.
