Building Trust and Promoting Wellness in Rural Communities
Mayo Clinic Health System staff in attendance at the Hispanic Health Fair
Mayo Clinic Health System – Oakridge (MCHS - Oakridge) contributed to community well-being by participating in the Hispanic Health Fair held in Pigeon Falls, hosted by Neighbor to Neighbor Ministry—an organization committed to fostering strong, healthy communities through connection and support.
MCHS - Oakridge staff provided free flu and COVID-19 vaccinations and distributed educational materials focused on healthy living. Supporting events like health fairs in rural communities is a vital part of MCHS’s commitment to advancing health equity and improving access to care. These outreach efforts help reduce barriers for underserved populations, promote preventive health practices, and build trust between healthcare providers and the communities they serve.
Through direct engagement with community members, Mayo Clinic Health System strives to help address key issues affecting our communities—such as mental health, chronic diseases, substance and alcohol misuse, and social determinants of health.
