On Wednesday, Nov. 19, WHA will be hosting a 30-minute webinar at 11:00 a.m. to provide an in-depth briefing to hospital and health system leaders and staff on the details of Wisconsin’s application for the federal Rural Health Transformation funding opportunity that was included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).
As the state Department of Health Services (DHS) prepared Wisconsin’s proposal to invest $1 billion in rural health initiatives for the next five years, WHA and the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC) worked closely with the agency’s leadership during the past several months to advocate for flexible funding opportunities for all rural Wisconsin hospitals to the extent allowed by the federal government.
This WHA-sponsored webinar will outline the state’s proposed approach, potential opportunities for rural hospitals and what hospitals/systems need to know about funding priorities, eligibility and next steps in the process ahead of the award announcement, due by Dec. 31, 2025.
